The Silver Surfer began as a young astronomer named Norrin Radd who saves his home planet from Galactus, a giant planet-eating villain, by becoming his herald. Now imbued with a portion of Galactus' "Power Cosmic," the Silver Surfer roams the universe looking for planets Galactus can consume.
